International Day of Persons with Disabilities

December 3 marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Its goal is to mobilize society to support the dignity, the inclusion, the rights, and the well-being of persons with disabilities.

This day, proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in 1992, promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in political, cultural, social, and economic lives.

The non-inclusion of persons with disabilities in the economic life of a country represents losses of between 3 and 7% of the GDP.

For Fundacion Teleton, December 3 is a very important date, because it represents our daily work to build a more inclusive and accessible world, providing medical care and rehabilitation to children with disabilities.

We are aware that each one of us can contribute so that people with disabilities have access to justice and health services. We are responsible for eliminating all physical, technological and attitudinal barriers that represent challenges for this sector of the population, and we invite you to be part of this change.
